To qualify for auto financing via 1-800-CarLoan.com:

• you must be a US resident of legal age

• must have at least $1,800 in gross monthly income

• must have no current bankruptcies

• must not have had a repossession in the last 12 months.

That's pretty much it. We're not one of those "Everybody Is Approved!" kind of operations (because there are some people who couldn't get a loan for the steam off a hot dog) but we cover a wide swath and bad credit is not an automatic disqualifier.

One final note: Be advised that certain lenders will give consideration to how long you have been at your current address and how long you've been at your current job. Banks value stability, and the longer you've been in one place, the better your chances of approval.

A Special Word On Suzuki

Suzuki generally has three or four models priced under $15,000 BRAND NEW (including the four-door sedan Aerio, the Forenza wagon and the Reno hatchback). Two of their larger vehicles, the Grand Vitara and XL7 SUV, do well in reliability ratings and can be found under $15,000 after just a year or two used.
